FreeArt is a mobile application designed to provide a platform for artists and art enthusiasts to share, discover, and appreciate artworks. The design focuses on a clean, minimalist interface that puts the artwork at the forefront, ensuring an immersive browsing experience.

Key design features include:

  • Intuitive navigation with gesture-based browsing
  • High-resolution image gallery with smooth transitions
  • Personalized user profiles and collections
  • Social features for connecting with other artists
  • Dark mode support for enhanced viewing

The app targets a wide range of users — from emerging illustrators to established painters — by offering a flexible gallery system and community feedback loops. Each user can customize their profile and organize works into thematic collections, while the home feed surfaces trending and recommended pieces based on interests.

The design was iterated through low-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes, with usability sessions focusing on the upload flow, search functionality, and social interactions. Discoverability was enhanced through tag-based navigation and dynamic categories.

A design system was established to maintain consistency across screens: reusable components, a unified color token set, and type scale. The interface adapts seamlessly to both phone and tablet layouts, ensuring a coherent experience regardless of screen size.

Performance considerations include optimized image caching, skeleton screens for loading states, and smooth transitions via native gesture handlers. The app works offline for saved content, improving reliability in low-connectivity scenarios.

Future enhancements planned include AI-powered art recommendations, collaborative boards, and integration with printing services for high-quality reproductions. These features aim to further empower the creative community and bridge digital and physical art experiences.

The project was developed with a user-centered design approach, emphasizing accessibility and performance. The color palette and typography were chosen to reflect creativity and elegance, while maintaining a professional aesthetic suitable for a diverse creative community.
